CURRICULUM CONSIDERATIONS WITH ACTION TO FOLLOW
The Curriculum and Instruction Committee has recommended to the Office of Instructional Administration
that the following course changes and additions be approved. Changes will not become effective until
after administrative and Board of Trustees approval.

and problems. Focus on the interrelatedness of historical events and on the comparisons of
cultures in a historical perspective. Total of 54 hours lecture.

III. COMMITTEE DISCUSSION/ACTION TO PLACE ITEMS ON FUTURE AGENDAS
The C&I subcommittee has decided to hold off on a decision concerning Lower Division Transfer
Patterns (LDTP) until they have more information. They are engaged in “watchful waiting.” All division
deans received a list of PC courses that have been approved for rejected for consideration. A course
may have been rejected for a variety of reasons, including needing textbook updates or requiring
substantive changes to the course. Each will be handled on a case-by-case basis. We don’t know
where this is going in the long run.

IV.
PRESENTATIONS AND AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Barbara Salmon presented a demonstration on how to look up and how to enter program outcomes for
certificates of achievement in WebCMS. Outcomes are pre-numbered in WebCMS. Ideally, there
should be 3-5 outcomes.
If a faculty member is just entering program outcomes, the outcomes do not go to Carol in the SLOARC
office, but go straight to the dean. However, if there is a modification of the program, then program
outcomes go to Carol. Only Certificates of Achievement are having program outcomes done at this
time.
Eventually program outcomes will reside in eLumen.
V.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
The C&I full committee will not meet again until April 9.
As part of the accreditation review, members of the C&I committee may be interviewed. Please review
the report. How aware are we of the procedures? How well do we know what we do here? This will be
an opportunity for the accreditation committee to get clarity on the report. There may be some
questions on SLOs and certificates, but the team may be mostly interested in processes.
