Why Study Nursing at Lincoln?
Motivations, Misconceptions & Media
Propose to consider current (years 1,2&3) and
Alumni student’s motivations to choose to study
Nursing at Lincoln University.
Lincoln’s nursing degree takes its lead from the
World Health Organisation’s vision of public
health-focused nursing and is a unique and
innovative approach to preparation for practice
in the 21st Century.
The University has recently been commissioned
by the East Midlands Strategic Health Authority
to deliver the adult undergraduate nursing
programme for Lincolnshire which will see the
BSc Nursing (adult) intake grow from a current
cohort of 48 to 186 students in September
2012,.

Assessment and completion dates
The project hand in date (for those undertaking this in 2012) is Friday 21st
September 2012. There is room to negotiate on this date should your
research project start be delayed because of ethical approval.
As part of the assessment you are required to undertake a project
presentation on the early work completed. This counts for 10% of project
marks. I would like to complete these presentations during April – June 2012
and I will be contacting you all to arrange dates.
The project should be 15,000 words in length (+10%) plus there is an
additional 5,000 words in the form a publishable article.
The weighting in this module is 75% for written project and 25% for the article.
