A Christian Guide to restoring the
identity of the God of Abraham to the
Church today, and its reconstruction,
biblically, as the Household of Faith.
PATIENCE WORKS PERFECTION
The replacement of decayed
sandstones in the walls of
St. Paul’s Cathedral has
restored Melbourne’s most
historic building. A patient
replacement of the doctrine of
the Trinity by the Truth of the One
God can do the same for the Church.
We live in an age of reconstruction.
The peoples and events of ancient
history are brought to life before our
eyes through televised archeological
digs and computer generated images.
Surely now is the time for the Church
to deconstruct its traditional but
erroneous doctrine of the Trinity,
so
that the former knowledge of the One
God can be renewed, and the Church
thereby restored.
ONLY BY DECONSTRUCTING THE
DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY CAN WE
RESTORE THE TRUTH THAT THE
LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD
Does the accepted theology of the
Trinity centre on the teachings of
Jesus and the apostles, or is it a
false construct of fourth century
theologians? The answer can be
tested by a single truth, one that
Jesus himself called “the first
commandment.” (Mark 12:29)
• Spot the difference in the statements:
MOSES: “HEAR, O ISRAEL,
THE LORD OUR GOD
IS ONE LORD!”
Deuteronomy 6:4
JESUS: “HEAR, O ISRAEL,
THE LORD OUR GOD
IS ONE LORD!”
Mark 12:29
The One True God is One Person
“We know that there is but one God,
the Father, of whom are all things,
and we in him, and one Lord Jesus
Christ, by whom are all things, and
we by him.” (1 Corinthians 8:6)
“That they might know you, the only
true God, and Jesus Christ,
whom you have sent.” (John 17:3)
The One True God is the Father
The determination by the Council of
Nicaea that Jesus preexisted as ‘God
the Son’ ignored God’s revelation to
Israel of Himself as “One Lord”
The One God was then seen as two co-equal
persons: God the Father and God the Son.
The declaration that the Holy Spirit is “the
Third Person of the Trinity” was made 44
years after Constantine’s death, at the First
Council of Constantinople in AD 381. It was
reaffirmed at the Council of Chalcedon, in
AD 451. The result: a theological darkness
descended that remains to this day. Jesus
Christ is the Son of God, not “God the Son”.
Those who refused to accept the Doctrine of
the Trinity – a doctrine never taught by
Jesus or his Apostles – were called heretics
and burned at the stake. It is not enough for
Christians to confess belief in the One God
of Israel – we must also confess that He is
One Person: the Father. Then we can begin
to deconstruct the widely accepted but
unscriptural Doctrine of the Trinity. Jesus
said to the Samaritan woman: “You do not
know what you worship. We know what we
worship: for salvation is of the Jews.”
(John 4:22)
NEWSFLASH!
God “No Mystery”
Truth seeker discovers word
“revelation” accompanies
“mystery” throughout New
Testament. Theologians
shocked: “May mean change
in long-accepted idea that
God is mysterious.”
One plus two equals one? 350 years
after Christ’s death the One God of the
Bible was declared to be three-in-one,
a doctrine that defies explanation!
Theologians misunderstood the words of
Jesus in the Gospel of John – that he
was referring to an eternal preexistence
as a separate person, as a Divine ‘God
the Son’ rather than as “the word” that
“was [face to face] with God”, a word
which ‘mirrored’ the Divine purpose.
That “word” was the sum of all that the
prophets [had] spoken (Luke 24:25). Its
“goings forth had been from old”— from the
first prophetic promise, in Genesis 3:15, that
“the seed of the woman would crush the
serpent’s head”. Beginning at Moses (the Law)
and the prophets, Jesus “expounded to them
[the disciples on the Emmaus Road] all the
things concerning himself in the scriptures.”
Jesus is the promised, messianic, King’s Son
of the Bible, not the preexistent ‘God the Son’
of erroneous, fourth-century, church tradition.
DECONSTRUCTION IS
NECESSARY FOR RENEWAL
The human counterpart of the Spirit of
God is a person’s spirit. This is clear
from the apostle’s words “even so”
in 1 Corinthians 2:11.
The human spirit is not itself another
separate person. Nor are the soul
and the body separate persons –
otherwise each individual would
have a multiple identity!
To see the individual as three separate
and distinct persons that together form
a human trinity is an absurdity.
Equally absurd is the concept of three
persons co-existing equally as One
God. Theologians influenced by Greek
mythology added the Son and the Holy
Spirit only after ignoring God’s clear
revelation of Himself. Jesus was one
with his Father in unity of purpose and
in fellowship in the same way that all
of Christ’s followers desire to be.
(John 10:28-30 & 17:11,21-23)
If God is Three Persons, why then does
the Bible refer to “Him” and “He”,
singular, never to “They” or “Them”?
If the claim is that “He” and “Him”
includes all Three Persons, wouldn’t
that mean that when we pray we
should address all Three persons,
simultaneously? But Jesus taught that
our prayers to God should begin with
the singular, “Our Father…”
God is One. Why fractionalize Him?
When we honour the Son
we honour the Father.
“I am Alpha
and Omega,
the beginning
and the ending,
says the Lord,
which is,
and
which was,
and
which is to come,
the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:8
God’s glory is
the Light of the
New Jerusalem.
Jesus is the
Lamp through
which it shines.
Revelation 21:23
Jesus is the
image of the
invisible God.
“I am Alpha and
Omega,
the beginning
and the end,
the first and
the last…
Surely I come
quickly.”
Amen. Even so,
come, Lord
Jesus
Rev. 22:13,20
Thomas saw what Philip hadn’t: the Father in the Son.
3–1=2–1=1
3 – 1. Remove the 381 AD addition
of “God the Holy Spirit” as “the
Third Person of the Trinity” and
the Truth that the Holy Spirit is
the Spirit of the Father is restored.
2 – 1. Remove the 325 AD addition
of “God the Son” as “the Second
Person of the Trinity” and the Truth
that “there is but one God, the Father”
is restored. Jesus Christ is “the
only begotten Son of the Father”.
One Person = One God.
Simple arithmetic!
This is our Confession of the
One True God and His Son,
our Lord Jesus Christ.
