“This is a vintage D. H. Case postcard, made in Germany. Caption reads "Chapman's Beach,
South Lyme, Conn." Has a divided back with message in Swedish, 1 cent stamp, and postmark
which reads South Lyme, Conn. 1914.”
“This is an unused, divided back, half-tone in blue, post card, from South Lyme, a very small village
in the small town of Old Lyme, located in New London County, CT.
The area pictured on this card is in the Point-O-Woods section of Old Lyme.
The card, based on the divided back, publisher's marks etc., was created circa 1920.”
“This is an unusual view of Point O'Woods, South Lyme Ct. I have only seen it once before. The title is "In the
Grove Point O'Woods Beach South Lyme Conn." It features the cottages at the beginning of Carrington Road.
Notice the dirt road. It is an early card of the Carrington, Oak and Walnut section of the Point. Mailed with a one
cent stamp and published by Auburn Co. “

“Published by Foley's store, this is is an unusual scene of the beach area. It
is titled "The Raft and Cottages On Beach Point O'Woods Beach
South Lyme Conn."
“This a rare beach view of Point O'Woods, South Lyme CT before the hurricane destroyed the cottages on the
beach. It was mailed from South Lyme in 1932. Great umbrella scene with wonderful graphics. It reminds one of
a Molly Dee painting so I have kept it in my collection for over twenty years. I have not seen a similar view for
sale. Published by J.Soloman, New London, CT.”

“Very unusual view of Point O'Woods, South Lyme Ct. Only one cottage on the beach so it is after
hurricane but the area in back of the boat basin is just a dirt parking lot. It is not mailed but I am
judging in the fifties. Notice how the bay side of the Point can be seen and the water under the
Amtrak.”
