Description: The exhibition focuses for the first time on an artistic heritage that is unique in
the panorama of Italian ceramics. They are the rare majolica plastics in the Marche region,
dating back to a production of Faenza or Pesaro in the end of the fifteenth century.

Title: Belle Parole (Beautiful Words) - Visual Poetry and Other Stories between art and
literature

Description: On the initiative of the Fondazione Gruppo Credito Valtellinese, at the Galleria
Carifano, a major exhibition dedicated to Visual Poetry (the art movement that developed in
the early decades of the second half of the twentieth century as a search for breaking with one
of the arts that had strengthened over the years between the two wars) will be held.
The exhibition takes its cue from the major Italian groups, also involving some international
personalities to document the worldwide spread of a cultural phenomenon that continues to
be a source of interest and research.

Title: "Gold, pearls, enamels, sapphires and rubies: Pope Sixtus V's Shrine after the
restoration at the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence"
Exhibition venue: Museo Sistino di Montalto Marche (Musei Sistini del Piceno) - Ascoli Piceno

Description: The so-called Reliquiario di Montalto (Montalto’s Shrine), is a work made of
different materials, 66.5 x 43 x 23 cm. in size. It is one of the rarest and highest examples of
late medieval French goldsmith’s, unique for its age, size, artistic level and value of the
materials. The exhibition of the shrine restoration will be in Florence at the museum of
precious stones, at Christmas time. The precious reliquary of Montalto Marche will be back to
the town by the beginning of Summer and could attract visitors from all over the world. The
display of the precious relic and the photographic panels of the various stages of the
restoration will promote the Marche Region, besides being an important document in the
history of Italian goldmith’s.

Title: La Grazia e la Luce – Da Perugino a Guercino l’immagine della Vergine Maria (The
Grace and the Light - From Perugino to Guercino the image of the Virgin Mary)
Exhibition venue: Senigallia - Palazzo del Duca-Diocesan Art Gallery
Description: In Senigallia, from the second half of the fifteenth century until the end of the
eighteenth, the great devotion to the Virgin Mary resulted in many art forms. Many
masterpieces will be displayed during the exhibition: there will be the altarpiece by Perugino,
the Madonna and Child with Saints John the Baptist, Louis, Francis, Peter, Paul and James the
Greater, preserved in the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie and displayed for the first time
after the perfect restoration supported by a group of local businessmen. There will be works
by talented artists in painting and sculpture between the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries.

Title: A masterpiece by Carlo Maratti from Rome to Camerano – “Rebecca ed Eliezer al
pozzo” (Eliezer and Rebecca at the pit)

Description: Thanks to the collaboration with the Ancient Art National Gallery of Palazzo
Corsini in Rome, a stunning masterpiece by Carlo Maratti, " Eliezer and Rebecca at the pit”
arrives for the first time in Camerano.
The painting owned by the Cardinal Neri Maria Corsini, a true Carlo Maratta’s admirer, will be
subject to a thorough restoration so that the fabric will adhere uniformly to the canvas.
Vittorio Sgarbi, curator of the exhibition, strongly wanted to compensate Maratta’s
hometown, albeit for a short period, with a masterpiece of this artist. It will be exhibited at the
Church of St. Faustina, a chaplaincy desired by the artist himself.
There are not only sculptural reliefs with the faces of Maratti and his wife Francesca Gommi,
but also his last painting “ St. Nicola di Bari”, a true testament made by the painter himself and
by his scholars.

Title: Stairs, within the 16th "Festival Cantar Lontano"

Description: The "Cantar Lontano Festival", celebrating its sixteenth year, opens a new and
innovative chapter entirely focused on music for solo instruments by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The theme of this first event is the construction of a guided tour for the valorisation of seven
monumental stairs of the Marche Region. This is how the project “Stairs” was born.

Title: "Quirino Ruggeri – Painting and Sculpture. Shapes and geometries in Camerano”
exhibition

Description: The exhibition organized by the Tourist Association Pro Loco "Carlo Maratta" in
Camerano, features approximately 30 works, including paintings and sculptures, by Quirino
Ruggeri and consists of two sections. The sculptures can be seen in the striking interior of the
"Cave Ricotti," a millennial underground church which has become one of the major tourist
attractions of the Riviera del Conero. The paintings will be in a wing of the Palazzo Comunale,
formerly an eighteenth century Franciscan convent. For the first time the important collection
Ruggeri-Mannucci of the Foundation Carifac in Fabriano and Collection Cavallini Sgarbi will be
on display along with paintings and sculptures from the Ruggeri Heirs.

Title: 50th Macerata Opera Festival

Description: The 50th Macerata Opera Festival at the Sferisterio, under the artistic direction of
Francesco Micheli, titled "L’opera è donna” (The work is woman), celebrates three great
heroines of melodrama: new productions of "Aida", which opened its first season in 1921, and
"Tosca", together with the recovery of the "Traviata degli Specchi" by Brockhaus and Svoboda.

Description: Organized by Arte Nomade under the auspices of the Marche Region, the Irish
Embassy in Italy, and the Italian Rugby Federation, the Festival’s increasingly international
character attracts some 20.000 enthusiasts every year from all over Italy and abroad. Among
the highly anticipated performers at this year’s edition are Ouberet (France), Celtica Pipes
Rock (Austria), and Paddy and The Rats (Hungary) on Friday, 1st August, while The Sidh
