Committees and producers of top rate Piedmontese wines get together to cross
boundaries and insular ways, to promote the production, the culture and the
territory of Piedmont all over Europe.
For a couple of years, the very best wines of Piedmont have been promoted in Europe
thanks to the Consortium “I Vini del Piemonte”, which gives enthusiasts the possibility

First of all, thanks to “Barolo & Friends”, the event designed by the Consortium brings

There are more than a hundred stars that shine along the trail named Strada del
Barolo e grandi vini di Langa: cellars and accommodation facilities, farms and

Story
Alta Langa is the name of the sparkling wine DOCG produced by metodo classico in
Piedmont, in accordance with the tradition of this region since the birth of the first
italian sparkling wine.
Alta Langa is also the name of the highest hills of the Langhe and Monferrato which
sign the area almost to the foot of the Alps.
Here, 11 manufacturers, 59 winemakers, 70 companies, working together for over
twenty years, in vineyards and cellars from March 5 1990 when it was officially
announced the production of metodo classico Alta Langa. The Consortium was later
founded and gets the approval of the Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita
for its wines.
The recovery of environments suited to the vineyard, the exploitation of research in
agricolture, the consolidation of a professional mentality and attitude of intense synergy
between the producers enhance the story of the Alta Langa Metodo Classico, preserving
a centuires-old tradition and delivering to the future an important wine from a great
longevity and strong perosonality.
Sparkling Wine
White or Rosé is a Brut (but you can also find Pas dosé and Extra Dry) craft of great
prestige, about 350.000 bottles, a little more than 6.000 tons of Pinot Noir and
Chardonnay grapes harvested by hand to be pressed whole.
The grapes are grown in vineyards to over 250meters above sea level in the hilly area to
te right of Tanaro river in 146 municipalities.
Amplitude il breathed in the scents and also in the complexity of this sparkling wine
which rest no less than 30 months in the bottle or more than three years to become
Riserva: throughout the Alta Langa only great vintage are produced.
Tasting a bottle of Alta Langa is an amazing experience to discover the style that each
manufacturer uses to interpret a wonderful region for the creation of sparkling Metodo
Classico piedmontaise.

“Vignaioli Piemontesi", or Piedmont Vine-Growers Association, was born on Dec. 12, 1996.
It is the largest regional association of vine-growers and wine-producers in Italy as it gathers
44 wine producers' co-operatives and about 400 family or individual farms and wineries,
representing the 40% of the wine production of the region.
Vignaioli Piemontesi is a non-profit association, and its aim is to defend and enhance each of
the wine production stage, thus helping to expand the commercial market of these products,
following the European Union rules and the programs of both the Italian Government and the
Piedmont Region Authority.
The purpose of Vignaioli Piemontesi is also to improve the quality of wines, utilizing
research and modern technology.
The first aim of the association is to help its members to make business effectively and
continuously, researching how to comply with the demands of the markets through technical
assistance and experimentation.
Direct assistance of the office is always available.
Technical consultancy and applied experimenting.
Vignaioli Piemontesi employs 12 specialists in the vine-growing and wine industries. They
work on projects aiming to preserve the ecological balance of nature, to ecological vinegrowing and planning of new vineyards, to design new equipment, to introduce innovations
in technology, and to protect the DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) and DOCG
(Denominazione di Origine Controllata Garantita) wines.
Vignaioli Piemontesi is by law also an association that includes 56 horticulturists in a
particular section called "Vigneto Piemonte".
The brand name "Vinifera" offers high quality vines for planting.
All plantings by Vignaioli Piemontesi are certified under the law ISO 9001.
MILLEVIGNE in the new project by Vignaioli Piemontesi in the field of sales promotion.
MILLEVIGNE is a network of wine-shops, a sort of franchising, where consumers can find,
nearby to wines of big prestige and image, products of young wineries, often of small
dimensions, characterized by an excellent quality and good price.
