Health Care Reform – Individual mandates
● Requires all Americans to be covered by health insurance or incur a
tax penalty
● Legally required notice will be mailed to employees before 10/1/13 to
explain the Health Insurance Marketplace (also commonly referred to
as “Exchanges”)
● Bottom line: Schneider Electric coverage meets the minimum
coverage and affordability standard
Health Savings Account – Optional employee contribution
amounts increase by $50 (individual)/$100 (family)
● Employee only HSA contribution limit = $2,800
● Family HSA contribution limit = $5,550

● 12% increase for EPO
● Medical tobacco user rates will remain $25 more per month than
non-tobacco user rates
Disability
● Short-term Disability (STD) Buy-up option decrease from $0.08 to
$0.06 (per $100 of monthly base pay)
● Long-term Disability (LTD) Buy-up option increase from $0.142 to
$0.186 (per $100 of monthly base pay)

● On 10/21, passwords will be reset
to last 4-digits of your Social
Security Number
● You will be required to create a
unique password upon initial login

Enrollment Process: Tobacco Questions
● Medical and Life tobacco questions must
be answered during Open Enrollment
even if previously answered.
● 2013 tobacco status will not carryover.
● Tobacco users are eligible to receive nontobacco user rates if tobacco user enrolls
in the Quit for Life® program during 2014
(and answers the tobacco question
accordingly).
● Enroll in Quit for Life program at
www.quitnow.net or 1-866-QUIT-4-LIFE.

• Copy of front page of your most recent federal tax return that
includes your spouse
OR
• Photocopy of marriage certificate, and
• Proof of joint debt/ownership dated within past 90 days (must
have your name and your spouse’s name)
Domestic
partner
• Domestic Partner Registration as legally recognized
OR
• TWO (2) documents that show both your names and address
Child
• Photocopy of birth certificate showing the parent’s name OR a
copy of the most recent federal tax return showing the child
listed

Enrollment Process: Domestic Partner
Requirements for adding a domestic partner or
domestic partner’s child:
● Indicate tax dependent status on www.se-benefitslink.com
● Provide proof of dependent eligibility documentation to PeopleLink
by Nov. 19
● Provide completed “Declaration of Domestic Partnership” and
“Certification of Tax Dependency” forms to PeopleLink by Nov. 19
If domestic partner currently covered and tax status
has changed:
● Update tax status on www.se-benefitslink.com
● Provide completed “Certification of Tax Dependency” form to
PeopleLink by Nov. 19

Enrollment Process: Dropped Dependents
Dependents dropped during Open Enrollment will not
receive COBRA paperwork
● Not a qualifying event
● If drop is due to a change in status, then employee must initiate
status change event rather than the Open Enrollment event on
www.se-benefitslink.com

Enrollment Process: Evidence of Insurability
●Evidence of Insurability (EOI) or proof of good health
required if you increase your Disability, Supplemental Life
and/or Spouse Life coverage
● EOI process
● For Disability, MetLife will mail the EOI to your home address
● For Life, Unum will mail the EOI to your home address

● Three employees who complete their enrollment by 10/29 (5 p.m. CT)
will win 3,200 points

● Two employees who complete their enrollment by 11/1 (5 p.m. CT)
