What is P.E.M.D.A.S.F.L.T.R and
why do we need it?
P.E.M.D.A.S.F.L.T.R is also know as
the Order of Operations.
Order of Operations is the order in
which you perform mathematical
operations to solve an equation.
We need P.E.M.D.A.S.F.L.T.R
because it helps us solve equations
properly and always the same way.
Remember: Calculate an equation
in the wrong order and you will
get the wrong answer.
What is P.E.M.D.A.S.F.L.T.R and
why do we need it?
Although, we are very familiar with Please,
Excuse, My, Dear, Aunt, Sally,
We sometimes forget that you multiply and
divide from left to right and you add and
subtract from left to right.
What does this mean? I always solve the
expressions inside the grouping symbols
and evaluated the powers first, but if all that
I have is multiplication and division or
addition and subtraction. I solve my
problem from left to right.
Example: 11 – 8 + 2
