Math Expressions MathBoards
Students use MathBoards as tools for recording their thinking,
relating their drawings to math language, and justifying their thinking.
Grades 1 and 2 MathBoards are the same.
1-100 Number Path on the front
100 grids & two sets of 100 dot arrays on the back.
Grades 4 MathBoards
1-100 Number Path on the front
Dots on back in 100 x 100 dot arrays-Marked off in
groups of 10..
Grades 3 MathBoards
1-100 Number Path on the front
Dots on back in 40 x 25 dot arrays-Marked off in groups of 5.
Grades 5 MathBoards
Decimal Bars on the front
Fraction Bars on the back..
MathBoards—Markers & Care
Use Dry Erase Markers
Clean with soft fabric (not tissues as they have lotion in them)
One idea is socks washed in hot water. Do not use fabric softener or
dryer sheets.
Encourage students to clean boards after use—do not let the ink set
on the boards..
