Suction Drainage System

TCS Drainage System for Post Surgical

Abscesses, and Ascites Drainages

TCS Drainage System Configurations

Available in capacity sizes of

1000ML, 500ML and 300ML

Sizes with drain port include the

TCS300D and the TCS500D

All have 25” silicone drain tube which can be adjusted in length by cutting the tube at the point where it connects to the bag and then re-attaching

Vacuum level for the TCS300D is 4.5 psi (230 mm Hg)

Vacuum level for the TCS500,

TCS1000 and TCS500D is 2 psi

(103 mm hg)

Flush Adapter (AFA-01)

The AFA-01 Flush Adapter is sold separately and is to be used when flushing of the catheter is required

It has a tube clamp for injection or aspiration of the catheter and to prevent solution from refluxing

The needleless, swabable port allows for injection of flushing solutions and aspiration

The device comes with a standard

Luer Lock fitting and a large bore adapter for the ULTI-flo system

To attach the Flush Adapter (AFA-

01) remove the Luer Lock connector from the bag tubing and replace it with the tapered connector on the end of AFA-01

Using the TCS Drainage Bags

Designed for “closed wound drainage”

Equipped with a standard Luer

Lock connector to fit all brands of percutaneous drainage catheters

If catheter is to be flushed it is recommended that a stopcock or the UreSil Flush Adapter (AFA-01) be attached to the distal end of the tubing prior to hooking the bag to the catheter

Vacuum is activated by compressing the bellows at the top of the bag

When the bellows is released the fluid will fill the bellows

Using the TCS Drainage Bags (cont.)

To reactivate the vacuum depress the bellows

The fluid in the bellows will be forced into the bag

Dual anti-reflux valves prevent fluid from going up the tubing and back into the catheter

The TCS bags will revert to gravity flow if the bellows is full; for gravity drain ensure the bag is below the level of the point being drained

Two vents at the top of the bag will prevent air buildup in the bag; you do not have to force air from the bag

Only the TCS500D and TCS300D can be emptied without detaching the bag from the catheter

Managing the Patient

To maintain the integrity of the closed system ensure an appropriate flushing apparatus (stopcock or AFA-01) is in place prior to attaching the tube to a catheter

Attach the bag to the patient’s garment using the clamp secured to the Velcro strap at the top of the bellows housing

Do not attach the unit to the drop rail on the bed, attach it to the bedding

Instruct the patient on the operation of the

TCS so they activate the bellows as needed

Drainage and critical measurements

(marks on the bag are for reference only) can be taken from the drain port without disturbing the patient; close the drain after use

The TCS1000 and TCS500 cannot be drained
