Premium
The premium covers up to 5 family members. Coverage is for
entire loan-term.
• BDT 250-1050 (USD 3.0- USD 13.0) per year depending on
loan amount and loan tenure. BDT 100 (USD 1) per additional
member.
NIRAPOTTA (SAFETY NET)
Benefits
 Loan and Life Insurance – At death of member or spouse, outstanding loan amount
up to a maximum of BDT 39,000 (USD 500) is waived, and cash benefit of BDT 5,000
(USD 63) is given.
 Health Insurance –
• Community Health Program through SAJIDA Bondhu (friend of SAJIDA) for
providing promotive, preventive and basic curative care and diagnostic
service with appropriate referral.
• Fixed cash benefits (BDT 500 to BDT 4,000) (USD 6.5 to USD 37.5) for several
health treatments.
• Free Normal deliveries, free Cataract operations, free consultation for
General physicians and discount rate offered to members at SAJIDA
Hospitals.
 Manmade Disaster (Fire) Insurance - A cash benefit of BDT 10,000 (USD 125) is
given.
 Education – Scholarship of maximum BDT 500 (USD 6.5) per month is given to
students from class 6 and onwards.
 Legal Aid – Legal consultation services and referrals are provided to members.

Livestock and DIISP
 Livestock Insurance – The livestock insurance premium is 0.7% of the
loan amount, plus BDT 100 (USD 1) for veterinary services. Upon death of
cattle, 85% of the loan amount will be waived.
 Developing Inclusive Insurance Sector Project (DIISP)• With financial and technical assistance from PKSF, we initiated the
Microinsurance Program named “Developing Inclusive Insurance Sector
Project” (DIISP)
• In 2 of our Jamalpur PRIME branches, offering credit, life, health (with
free paramedic service) and livestock (cattle) microinsurance.
• The credit life insurance waives any outstanding loans and pays a cash
benefit of BDT 5,000 (USD 63) for funeral expenses upon death of a
member or his/her spouse for a premium of BDT 40 (USD 0.5) plus 0.5% of
loan amount.
• The health insurance pays a cash benefit of tk. 200 (USD 2.5) in daily
basis for hospitalization upto a maximum of 30 days for a premium of tk.
250 (USD 3.13).
• Under health insurance free paramedic service given for member.
New Insurance Product
Insurance for savers:
• SAJIDA savers will be eligible for a FREE packaged insurance product as
long as they maintain a minimum total savings balance including
Mandatory and Voluntary Savings.
• Premium paid by SAJIDA 0.1% (of monthly savings balance) or 1.2% of
annual savings balance (based on total savings balance for all savers
• For eligibility Minimum total savings balance including Mandatory and
voluntary of BDT 7,001 (USD 88) for at least 1 month.
• Cover is renewable on a monthly basis, as long as the member maintains
a minimum of BDT 7,001 (USD 88) in total savings.
Benefits are Health and Education services:
• Fixed cash benefits will be provided for serious health conditions and
Tuitions will be provided for class 2 and class 3 children of the savers
New Insurance Product
Group insurance for ME borrowers’ employees:
• A group insurance contract will be provided to the ME borrower upon
premium collection specifying insurance benefits and number of employees
covered.
• The insurance product provides health, life & accident coverage for all the
employees who will be insured.
• Premium 260 (USD 3) (50% ME borrower and 50% employee )
• Term 1 year, Coverage Employee and Spouse
Benefits:
• Fixed cash benefits will be provided for serious health conditions
• Taka 5,000 cash benefit upon death of employee or spouse
• If an employee has an accident or disability caused by workplace that
leads to inability to work, then, the employee can take partially paid
leave of a maximum of 2 weeks during which 50% of his / her wage will
be paid for.

Community Health through SAJIDA Bandhu
Goal
To ensure health services at the doorstep of
members by direct intervention and referral
services, especially targeting pregnant women and
children.

Community Health Program through
Sajida Bondhu for providing

A trained SAJIDA Bondhu (friend of
SAJIDA) gathers information and
delivers services at the household
level.
One SAJIDA Bondhu is assigned for each branch. Make community people
aware, give preventive health education & treatment and refer to appropritae
health centres are their core work.

offer all ranges of psychosocial counseling support

Governance
• SAJIDA has dynamic and experienced members in General body
• The General Body meets once every year and elects Governing Body once
in three years
• The Governing Body provides strategic direction of SAJIDA and approves
the annual plan and budget
• The Governing body meets once in every three months
• The Governing body appoints the Executive Director who is responsible for
over all management of the organization
•Audit Committee assists Governing body in conducting the organization’s
financial review.

•The Executive Director functions through a Senior Management
Committee (SMC) comprising of all the heads of departments

•SAJIDA has independent Finance, HR, Admin, Audit, MIS, Training & IT
units to support and control all of its activities
• SAJIDA has a standard Financial Policy, HR Policy, Procurement Policy, Cost
Allocation Policy and also has Table of Authority
•Annual Budget is first presented to SMC and ED, upon finalization is sent
to Governing Body and later to General Body for approval
• Budget variances are discussed in SMC meeting every month and in
Governing body meeting quarterly
