 Adjective
Definition:
 Adverbs often give more information about verbs.
 They answer the question “How …?”
Example:
 Jill walks slowly. How did she walk? Slowly!

usually end in "-ly."
sometimes have irregular forms.
usually follow the verb they describe.

-y becomes –ily

short adverbs:
◦ between subject (onderwerp) and verb
(werkwoord):
 he slowly turned around.

the sentence:
 They have clearly gone too far!
◦ After am, is, are, was, were:
 That dog is never quiet.

Longer adverbs, and short adverbs with
stress (nadruk):
◦ After the verb:
 John was talking very seriously to her.
◦ At the beginning of the sentence:

Then he opened the door.
