Halal and Tayyeb
only for Muslim ?



7
If we look at the base of "allowed" things in Islam, then we talk
about Halal and Tayyeb: allowed and permitted, and good, well,
and acceptable.
When we start the discussion about Halal and Tayyeb with
responsible persons of Quality Management in food processing,
they mostly are astonished, when they realize that the most
regulation of Islamic Halal criteria already are included in their
own Quality Standard, except some special points like use of
pork and its derivates and intoxicant Ethanol or ritual aspects
like slaughtering regulation and Nijasa/impurity.
In the domain of food and his ingredients and processing we
know the development to Bio and Vegetarian and Vegan, the
Halal criteria are not automatically excluded only for Muslim.
What about Tourism?



8
“Say, [O Muhammad], ‘Travel through the land and observe how
He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation.
Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent.’ ”
Al-Quran 29:20
Travelling and journey are highly recommended by the Qur'an.
Allah asked us to travel through the earth to take the lessons
from His creation which He offers to us in His mercy. If we
accept Tourism also as one instrument for learning, then the
Islamic Hajj is one of the oldest attractions of Tourism!
And also the Non-Muslim people travel to gain knowledge,
learn about history of other people, and widen their perspective
about life and their understanding of human civilization.
What is Halal Tourism?



9
Halal tourism is a subcategory of religious tourism which is geared
towards Muslims families who abide by Sharia rules but towards
people who prefer the Halal regulation but not based on religious
belief.
For example, the hotels in such destinations do not serve alcoholic
beverages and have separate swimming pools and spa facilities for
men and women, during flights no alcohol or pork products are
served, places as relaxation rooms are available, usable for praying
of miscellaneous religions.
The preparing and offering of these kinds of Tourism is implemented
in a chain, which we will observe in the next foil

Development of Halal Tourism Standards
One of the initiatives of Islamic Chamber Research and Information
Center is to promote and unite Halal tourism standards in OIC
member states. Halal tourism industry provides full holiday services
in accordance with Islamic beliefs and practices.
Muslim Travel Agencies in OIC member states
ICRIC believes that tourism policies in Islamic countries and OIC
member states should be harmonized and unified. This goal could
be facilitated through developing a network of Islamic Travel
Agencies that offers Islamic tours. Muslim Tours offer the best
service to Muslim Travelers from all over the world, where Halal
foods, Halal hotels, Halal entertainment, and Halal flights are
provided.

Center is to promote and unite Halal tourism standards in OIC
member states. Halal tourism industry provides full holiday services
in accordance with Islamic beliefs and practices.
Muslim Travel Agencies in OIC member states
ICRIC aims to encourage Muslims to travel around the Muslim world
and learn about Islamic History and heritage. Cultural tourism could
lead to cultural exchanges, business and investment opportunities
and can create a general sense of Islamic solidarity. In order to
promote cultural tourism in OIC member states, well-defined
programmes and active collaboration of Islamic countries are
needed.

Ecotourism
ICRIC is confident that Islamic countries have enormous potential in the
field of ecotourism. Ecotourism could better be managed in Islamic
countries through capacity building and promoting tourism attractions in
OIC member states. Ecotourism is a form of tourism involving visiting
intact natural areas. Ecotourism could directly benefit the economic
development and political empowerment of local communities in Islamic
countries, or to foster respect for different cultures and for human rights.
Health tourism
Health tourism is the process of planning a trip to another country or
city for treatments. Health tourism is preferred in developing countries,
where the expense of medical care is less expensive. ICRIC, with the
active cooperation of Islamic countries and Islamic business
communities, is aiming at increasing capacity of health tourism in OIC
member states. Health tourism in Islamic countries should offer reliable
international treatment.
