Why do a placement?
Q: Why did I decide to do this?
I am a Second Year Student.
 Wanted to test the skills I had developed at university
with what was expected in the outside world
Should I take the opportunity of
getting a year’s work experience
before graduating?
 I saw this as a vital step in my development and one
which would enhance my CV after graduation
 Wasn’t sure what route to take after graduating, so
this was the best way of finding out!
 Decide what area of computing was the best fit
Q: Why did I choose Accenture?
 Wanted work with clients to improve their
shareholders value and Accenture gives you that
opportunity
 At first I wanted to work with technology and
business, which Accenture are the market leaders so
it was an excellent place to start
 Wanted to work with driven people, which Accenture
has a strong reputation for

What I have learnt...
Q: My Role?
My work was very varied, but
extremely challenging and exiting
 I worked on an internal Accenture project, which
managed both the DCN and SI&T engagement
portfolios
 I managed a section of the project, this included two
senior members and constant meetings and
telephone hook ups with India and other DCN’s.
 I worked closely with Senior management and my
Senior exec in analysing both SI&T and the DCN’s
structure and user base.
 My main area of work revolved around Strategy,
Solutions and Services. Whereby I was adding value
by creating processes for team collaboration both
onshore and offshore
Q: Benefits of a Placement?
 Improved in all areas of business
 Understand what I want to do after graduating
 Have an offer from Accenture
