Vadodara Audit Club (VAC)
The Institute of Internal Auditors is a well-known institute with dynamic leadership,
educating best practices for global profession of internal auditing, risk management and
corporate governance. It operates in over 140 countries through network of Chapters and
Audit Clubs. VAC is one of such clubs associated through IIA - India’s Bombay Chapter. VAC
was awarded formal recognition on 12th of May 2010. It is the only presence of IIA in
Gujarat, a focal point of all knowledge sharing events related to Internal Audit.
VAC puts all efforts into demystifying the word "Internal Audit", from being perceived as
purely a post facto activity that circles in and around accounting to a powerful, highly
useful tool used for business health checks. Internal Audit's endeavor is in partnering to
evaluate business strategy, monitor it through appropriate controls and formulate
frameworks, thereby instilling best practices in Corporate Governance.
VAC presented many programs/seminars, regularly throughout the last two years. For
instance, Auditing: P2P (Purchase to Pay) Business Process, Changing role of Auditor, Risk
Based Internal Audit: An Exercise, Effective Audit Report Writing, Digital Forensics – A
Snapshot, Reviewing Fixed Assets and Capitalization, Building Competencies for SMEs,
Point of Taxation Rules, etc. The club continued to increase its members base, (over 125 as
on date – equally distributed between industries and audit firms).
VAC also shares responsibility for editing and publishing “Internal Audit Sphere” a bimonthly magazine of IIA India. Download a copy from www.iiavadodara.org/iasphere.pdf. You
