IHI supplies the world with state-of-the-art coal-fired boilers, utilizing Clean Coal Technology (CCT), which we
developed through years of extensive research. This technology enables us to use coal, a cheap and widely
available resource, more efficiently and economically, resulting in lower CO2 emissions and a better utilization of
the world’s limited natural resources.
IHI’s accumulated technology is also used in other coal-fired

Proven Design
IHI’s expertise in supercritical boiler have been accumulated over the last 30 years since the first
supercritical-unit entered into commercial operation in 1980.
Design Options ready for Customer’s Preference
IHI is ready to offer for optimum supercritical boiler design options according to the customer’s
preference and needs, i.e. 2 pass or 1 pass (tower type), 400MW to 1,100MW class, various
kinds of fuels, operation and emission requirements.
