to store data from students testing in KITE
Client and then send that data all at once.
• This is how the current LCS functions
• No called “Semi-Offline” mode.
LCS: 2015
• Release planned for February 6th, 2015
• Expansion of the LCS Admin features
—Two Modes
• Semi-Offline
• Fully Offline
• Ability to begin testing with no internet if
tests have been downloaded to the LCS
• LCS-2014 will no longer work once the
LCS- 2015 is available.
LCS: Fully Offline Mode
LCS: Reasons to Use Fully
Offline Mode
• No internet will be available the day of
testing.
• Internet is expected to be unreliable do to
weather, maintenance by your service
provider, or limited bandwidth due to
other local event.
• Remote location with no internet where
testing machines and LCS machine will be
delivered.
• Limited bandwidth
LCS: Semi-Offline vs. Fully
Offline Modes
• We suggest you set up the LCS in one
mode and stick with it throughout testing.
• In most cases, Semi-Offline is sufficient.
—Protection against temporary loss of Internet
—Variable Internet
—Low bandwidth
LCS: Admin Logging In

• IP address:port number/TDE/admin/index.htm

• AMP It Up Day is scheduled for Jan. 29th.
• EED webinar for Amp It Up Day planned
for Jan. 14th at 3:30.
• How to Prepare?
—Have KITE Client installed on machines where
students will test.
—If using an LCS, have LCS running.
• Only semi-offline mode is available
—Use the same configurations that you intend
to use during summative assessments
Testlets: Assessment for

of students’ understanding.

concept for grades 3-10 in ELA and math.

Testlets: Setting Up Test
Sessions as a Teacher
p. 7.2
• Test Session defined
—In Educator Portal, a Test Session is the
combination of:
a single testlet,
students assigned to that testlet,
a name given by the person who creates the session,
tickets generated with the student username and
password, and
• the testlet populating the assigned students’ KITE
Client account.

Data Extract Reports in
EP: Reusable
• Current Enrollment
— Can update/edit/add students, but CANNOT change student ID
• Roster
— Can remove a student from a roster.
— Can add a student to an existing roster, so long as that student is not on
another identical roster.
— If you try to add a student to an existing roster, but either the Roster Name,
Subject, Course, School Identifier, or Educator are different, then the system
will create a new roster.
— If you add a line of data to the .CSV upload, and the exact same line of data
already exists, the system will not duplicate the data. For example, if I have
two lines of data with the exact same student, teacher, subject, roster name
etc, the system only creates/updates 1 record.
• Test Records
— Extract ONLY contains Test Records, NOT all enrollment

TEC: Paper/Pencil Test
Record Deadline
p. 3.22
• January 5th was the deadline for
assigning students to a Paper/Pencil
summative assessment through the TEC.
—The PNP (Access Profile) also needed to have
Paper/Pencil, Large Print, Braille, and Read
Aloud checked if being assigned as an
accommodation for summative assessments.
Heads Up
• Known
— Fractions appearing as whole numbers on Chromebooks
(1/2 appears as 1 2 [12])
• Investigating
— Testlet items not appearing after hitting next, only a
white screen.
— System is slow at login when multiple users are logging
in simultaneously.
— Select multiple points not allowing selection of
multiple points.
• Hint
— If a student moves to another district or school . . .
• do a TEC upload to CLEAR any Test Records.
• then do a TEC EXIT to remove the student from your district
. . . or, do an enrollment re-upload to change the school.
