PARENT AND CHILD (AGES 6-36 MONTHS)
The primary objective is water adjustment. Parents will be taught to work with their child and keep
them safe in and around the water. Activities are based on developmental abilities. Child may not
learn how to swim by themselves in this class. This is a water orientation class.
GOLDFISH (BEGINNER 3-5 YR OLD)
For children with little or no previous experience. To pass to the next level they must swim
independently 5ft or more.
TUNA (ADV BEG 3-5 YR OLD)
For children who are comfortable in the water and can swim independently 5ft or more. To pass to the
next level they must swim on their front and back 15ft.
FLOUNDER (INTER 3-5 YR OLD)
Children review previously learned skills, improve strokes, build endurance, learn to tread, and
perform basic diving skills.
PORPOISE (ADV 3-5 YR OLD)
Children review previously learned skills and refine their crawl and backstrokes. They're introduced to
the breaststroke and the sidestroke as well as swim under water and dive. Students must swim the
length of the pool to pass this course.
BETTA - BEGINNER (6 - 14 YR OLD)
Beginner level for children 6 years and up. To pass to the next level they must be able to swim 5-10 ft.
on their own.
TROUT - INTERMEDIATE BEGINNER (6 - 14 YR OLD)
This advanced beginner class is for children who are comfortable in the water and can swim
independently 5ft or more. To pass to the next level they must swim on their front and back 15 yards.
YOUTH ADVANCED (6 - 14 YR OLD)
Initial intermediate level. Children learn the crawl with side breathing, backstroke, elementary back,
breaststroke, and sidestroke. Basic diving is taught at this level. To pass they must master all skills.
Students work to refine all strokes previously learned with turns. They are introduced to the butterfly
stroke. Shark Advanced Intermediate students work on refining strokes, increasing endurance, flip
turns and racing starts. This group will prepare students for the swim team.
ADULT - BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE (15 + YR)
Teaches the basic fundamentals of floatation and introduces swimming. Helps overcome the
uneasiness sometimes felt by adults learning to swim. Emphasizes front crawl and elementary
backstroke.
Private and semi-private lessons are 30 minutes in length. Private lessons are taught one-on-one with
the child and the instructor.
Semi-private lessons are for groups of no more than three children and one instructor.
