A guide to how you register a company
in the EE- & Batteriregistret
To make it easier for you to register your company in the EE- & Batteriregistret we have written this guide.
Note that there is a separate guide that explains how to do the yearly report.

Go to the form for the registration

Choose scope of registration
In the first step of the notification process all companies must choose whether
they are within the scope of both the producer responsibility for electrical and
electronic equipment (WEEE) and for batteries or if only one of these legislations
are applicable. You make the choice by clicking in the box/boxes which applies to
your company. Thus, if you only have WEEE-products you simply click the box for
”EE-produkter” and if you only have batteries you simply click the box for
”Batterier”. If you are within the scope of both directives then click both boxes.
Once you’ve made the above selection(s), click ”Fortsätt” (stands for ”Continue”)
at the bottom of the page and fill in the requested information in the registration
form. See more help for this on the forthcoming pages.

The Company name (obligatory)
Organisationsnummer (organizational
number):
Shall be 10 figures without hyphen. For
example 5566778899 (obligatory).
VAT-nummer (VAT-number):
All companies that are registered for tax
gets a VAT-number from the Swedish Tax
Agency. It is normally written with SE
before the Swedish organizational number
and with a 01 in the end. For example
SE556677889901 (obligatory).

Produktkategorier EE = Product categories EE
If you are a WEEE-producer you must specify in which
category your electrical and electronic equipment can be
located (see picture on the right).
Hushållsprodukt = Household product
A household product is one that’s typically used in a
household and may emerge as household waste when they
are discarded. Thus, it is the design, function and normal
usage that determines whether it counts as a household
product or not. Whoever buys the product from the
producer is irrelevant. For example, a personal computer is
a household product, whether used at home or in a
company.
Övrig produkt = Other product
Electrical and electronic products that are not household
products are called Other products.

category batteries
If you are a battery producer you must
specify what type of batteries the
company sells in Sweden and what brands
they are (see picture on the right).
•Bärbara batterier = Portable batteries –
any battery, button cell, battery pack that
is sealed, and can be hand carried and is
neither an industrial battery nor an
automotive battery.
•Industribatterier = Industrial batteries –
any battery designed for exclusively
industrial or professional uses or used in
any type of electric vehicle.
•Bilbatterier = Automotive batteries – any battery
used for automotive starter, lighting or ignition
power.
Varumärke = Brand name
If you know what brand names you are
selling you can write this in this box. If
you are uncertain just write a ”?”.

Insamlingssystem EE = Collection
system WEEE
As an EE-producer, you must take part in
a collection scheme to collect waste from
the products you sell. The requirements
for collection of waste wary from
”Household” and ”Other” products.

Insamlingssystem Batteri = Collection
system for batteries
As a battery producer, you must take part
in a collection system for the collection of
the batteries you sell. This obligation does
not include those companies who, for the
period of a calendar year, emit less than :
1 kg of mercury batteries
2 kg of cadmium batteries
250 kg of lead acid batteries (each
weighing more than 3 kg)
100 kg of lead acid batteries (which
each weighs less than 3 kg)
50 kg of other batteries
Small producers are still required to notify
the Swedish EPA and annually report data
on sales.

Finansiell garanti för hushållsprodukter
(gäller endast EE-producenter) = Financial
guarantee for the household products
(only concerns producers of WEEE)
Does your company sell household products in
Sweden? Then make sure that there is money
set aside to ensure future recovery if for any
reasons you can not do it yourself.
For example, if the company would go bankrupt
Financial guarantees shall be set aside for new
waste, that is, products sold after 12th of
August 2005.
Once you have filled in all details in the registration form, click on “Skicka”
(= Send) at the bottom of the page. An e-mail with the password will be
sent out as soon as we have reviewed the application.
