• TACOM, Rock Island conducted NET for the M119A2 105mm
howitzer to sixteen battalions from 15 States.
• NET for the M777 Howitzer was conducted for Michigan’s 1119th FA BN.

Pathfinder School
• Army National Guard Warrior Training Center from Ft. Benning,
GA conducted this rigorous two-week school for 56 candidates
from Michigan and other States.

Recent Operational Highlights
• Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise (CALFEX)
• Units from the Army and Air National Guard, as well as active Air
Force Special Operations Forces took part in a CALFEX on the
Range 40 Complex
• The 1-197th Fires BDE conducted operations using the new Standard
Integrated Command Post System (SICPS) simultaneously with its
subordinate units from NH, WV, RI and MI
• The Squad Designated Marksmanship Course developed by the US
Army’s Marksmanship Unit and TRADOC was conducted at Camp
Grayling to train designated marksmen to hit targets out to 500m and
beyond
• XM2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle (ESR)NET (August 2011)

2010. NGB Environmental Security Award – 2nd Place Sustainability Category for
Installation Recycling Program
2009. NGB Environmental Stewardship Award (only state to be a two time recipient, 1997
and 2009. Given to the state with the best overall environmental program)
2002. Award from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for implementation of
a Wellhead Protection Plan at Camp Grayling
2000. Award Plaque from the George Mason Chapter of Trout Unlimited for dedicated
efforts to preserve and protect coldwater fisheries in the AuSable and Manistee River
watersheds
1999. Certificate of Commendation from Otsego County and Huron Pines RC&D for
conservation restoration efforts and construction of Timber Bridges
1998. Conservation of the Year Award from the Michigan United Conservation Clubs
