Definition
The green economy is centred on investment in new & expanded market
opportunities that support a low carbon, resource efficient & socially
inclusive economic pathway
Goal statement
To establish the Western Cape as the lowest carbon province and leading
green economic hub of the African Continent

Smart living: stimulate local markets, create new markets .Changing consumption
patterns & retail practices. Will reduce negative environmental impacts
Smart Settlement: create more sustainable settlements through better land use
planning and reduction in resource intensity
Smart mobility: facilitate a more integrated inter-modal transport model
Smart eco-systems: expand interventions to protect and enhance key ecosystems
Smart agri-production: enhance agri-production competitiveness & resilience
through sustainable production innovations and food technology innovations
Smart enterprise: establish WC as globally competitive centre of green
enterprise, innovation and investment
