• Primer (A)–Often used with broadcast systems, and are highly
recommended for any application on concrete (including damp/green).
Can be pigmented if no base coat is used.
• Base coat or Mid coat – Self-level slurry (B) (50-60 mil dry); unfilled
clear for single/double broadcast (C) (10-20 mil dry) or coating (5-10
mil dry).
• Top coat or Seal coat (D)– Applied as a clear coat on top of base or mid
coat (10-20 mil dry).

Advanced Thermoset Technologies
- Polycarbamide Technology
• Key attributes
• Very rapid cure speed
• Low temperature cure
• Excellent UV resistance
• Thick films in 1 pass (up to 20 mils)
• Good stain & chemical resistance
• High abrasion resistance
• High impact resistance
• High gloss
• Current Limitations
•Ability to control gloss levels for topcoat applications
6
High Gloss is nice, but…
•Formulators want flexibility in providing
topcoats with wide gloss range
- Low gloss coatings hide flaws better
- Surface wear are not easily seen with satin finish
- Customer preference
•Current Thermoset Technologies used for high
and low gloss topcoats
- Solventborne Polyurethanes
- Waterborne Polyurethane

New Novel Polycarbamide Technology
• Unique new amine curing agent designed for use with
aliphatic isocyanate resins in high performance flooring
applications
• The new Polycarbamide technology, Amicure® IC-322
retains the excellent UV stability and durability of our
current commercial offerings, and plus builds in an
exciting new Feature:
- Formulating flexibility gives the formulator important new
latitude to:
• Customize finish between High Gloss and Satin
• Low gloss finish is obtained by adding a specialized commercial
matting agent in the formulation
- Brings in some VOC, but still <100 g/L
