TRANSITION ASSISTANCE ADVISOR
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
WE: Advocate for Guard members and their families within the state.
Advisor on Veterans Affairs issues for the Soldier,
Families, and Joint Force Headquarters Staffs.
Coordinate with and assist in identifying/tracking;
NCNG Soldier’s wounded, injured, or become ill while on Active Duty status.
Participate on statewide councils/committees/task forces
Provide monthly reports; TAG, J1/J9, SCSM and various State orgs.

IBHS SECTION SUMMARY
Mission:
The NCNG Integrated Behavioral Health System (IBHS) is driven by a team of contracted,
qualified, licensed clinicians and behavioral health case managers known collectively as the
Psychological Services Section (PSS) dedicated to helping Guard members and their Families
by assessing for immediate behavioral health needs and offering connection to internal as
well as federal, state, and community (external) resources (both clinical and non-clinical)
where appropriate. The NCNG PSS staff are regionally located throughout the state and
housed in NCNG Family Assistance Centers where the collaboration allows for outreach as
well as a platform for partnership with all regional resources.
