Stefano Barberis: PhD Student at University of Genoa (DIME) since 2013
Academic Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering (University of Genoa,
2012), Professional Engineer (2012), Qualified energy assessor accredited by Liguria region (2014).
Research interests: Stefano Barberis is active in the field of Distributed Generation focusing his interests on
energy harvesting , energetic storage (thermal and electric) and Concentrating Solar Power Plants. His
main topics are innovative energy cycle thermoeconomics and analysis and optimization of renewable
plants and smart grids.
Research results: The research activity has produced more some scientific papers, most of them published
at International conferences on the research interests (Distributed Generation, CSP, Thermoeconomics).
An application is pending on a patent on an innovative layout for a high temperature storage for CSP
purposes.
Teaching: in 2013 and 2014 teaching assistance to the “Impianti per l’Energia” and “Macchine e Sistemi
per l’Energia e la Propulsione” about thermoeconomic simulation of power plants.
