报告人简介:
Dr. Xiao-Song Wang is currently working in the Department of Chemistry as well
as the Waterloo Institute of Nanotechnology as an Associate Professor. He graduated
from East China University of Science and Technology in 1998 with a PhD degree in
Polymer Materials and Science. After working in the University of Sussex and the
University of Toronto as a postdoctoral research fellow, he received the Roberts
Academic Award/RCUK Research Fellowship working at the University of Leeds in
2006. In 2011, he moved to the University of Waterloo. His research expertise spans
from living polymerization to supramolecular chemistry and functional nanomaterials.
He has developed a number of concepts and techniques for polymer and
nanomaterial innovation. These contribution include:
 The concept of Migration Insertion Polymerization (MIP) for a new type of main
chain metal carbonyl polymers (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2013, 135, 3399-3402)
 The concept of Living Self-Assembly (LSA), leading to the synthesis of the first
example of block co-micelles. (Science 2007, 317, 644-647)
 The concept of Miniemulsion Periphery Polymerization (MEPP) for the synthesis of
the first example of metal coordination nanoshells in a designed fashion (J. Am.
Chem. Soc. 2009, 131, 5378–5379)
