Australia-China Science and Research Fund (ACSRF)
•
Administered by the Australian Government’s Department of Industry and Science.
•
Supports strategic science, technology and innovation collaboration of mutual
benefit to Australia and China.
•
The program was extended in 2014. The extension will support Joint Research
Centres and the Australia-China Science Academies Symposia Series.

ACSRF Joint Research Centres
•
The call for applications to the next round of JRCs expected first quarter 2015.
•
UQ can only lead one application (but can collaborate as a partner in other JRC
applications).
•
JRCs are virtual centres that link Australian and Chinese research institutions
conducting a portfolio of research-related activities in a specified field of research.
•
Must seek support for international collaborative research activities in one of the
nominated priority areas of research.
•
JRCs will be required to include a Chinese partner as well as an Australian industry
partner to maximise application and commercialisation of research outcomes.
•
JRC activities include:

Conferences, workshops and symposia
Exchanges and secondments of personnel between Australia and China
New research-related information sharing and communication initiatives.

ACSRF Australia-China Science Academies Symposia Series
•
Seeks to strengthen cooperative research links between Australia and China in
areas of mutual national interest.
•
The forum is jointly organised by the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS);
Australian Academy of Science (AAS); Australian Academy of Technological
Sciences and Engineering (ATSE).
•
Continues to receive support under the ACRF program extension.

Australia-China Council
•
Administered by the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and
Trade.
•
Supports projects across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and Australia that
broaden and strengthen Australia-China relations in education, business, culture
and the art.
•
Up to $40,000 per application.
•
Expressions of interest open 27 February 2015.

Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships
•
Administered by the Australian Government’s Department of Education and Training.
•
The program aims to:
• Develop ongoing educational, research and professional links between individuals,
organisations and countries;
• Increase the skills and global awareness of high achieving individuals from Australia and
overseas;
• Contribute to Australia’s reputation as a high quality provider of education and training and
a leader in research and innovation;
• Increase the productivity of Australians through international study, research or
professional development experience.
•
Applications for the 2016 round are expected to open in April 2015.
•
The People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macau SARs) is a participating
country.

Endeavour Scholarships & Fellowships
All recipients will receive:
•
Travel allowance: $3,000 (up to $4,500 in special circumstances);
•
Establishment allowance: $2,000 (Fellowships) or $4,000 (Scholarships);
•
Monthly stipend: $3,000 (paid up to the maximum programme duration on a
pro-rata basis);
•
Health insurance for the full programme duration
•
Travel insurance (excluding during programme for Non-Australians).
