2. 或：助詞，無義。
3. 獻諸：獻之於。諸：是「之於」的合音。
4. 子罕：春秋時宋國貴族，名樂喜。
5. 弗受︰不接受。
6. 示：展示給人看。
7. 玉人：雕琢玉器的工人。
8. 爾：代詞，「你」的意思。
9. 若以與我：如果把玉給我。若：如果；以：把；與：給。
10. 喪：失去。
11. 不若︰比不上。
