A manager creates and maintains an
environment also called as an internal
environment or simply the organization, so that
others can work efficiently in it. A manager's job
consists of planning, organizing, directing, and
controlling the resources of the organization. These
resources include people, jobs or positions, technology,
facilities and equipment, materials and supplies,
information, and money. Managers work in a dynamic
environment and must anticipate and adapt to
challenges.

executive

Peter Drucker, in his book, “The Effective
Executive”, suggested that a manager or an
executive must follow the “first-thing-first”
principle. It requires him a one hundred percent
concentration on what he is doing – and he must do
one thing at a time. Its because being an effective
executive could be learned by any individual.

To differentiate these two positions, it is better to
discuss what entrepreneurship is.
Entrepreneurship is a process by which people
opportunities, fulfilling needs and wants through
innovation without regard to the resources they
currently control.

LETRApreneurship refers to the entrepreneurial
spirit the Letranites. Meaning, Letranites are expected
to become entrepreneurs which is stated in her
vision, that goes: “Letran graduates are expected to
become dynamic builders and leaders of
communities”. We will become dynamic leaders and
builders through our own business and by providing
and creating jobs for other people – that is
letrapreneurship!

The Pinoy Style of a manager

Manager “by Kayod.” Kayod is a Filipino term which means
to sweat it out or to give oneself to hard work. This manager
is action-hungry and highly dedicated.
Manager “by Lusot”. Lusot is another Filipino word
capitalizing on a loophole. He always looks for loopholes or an
excuse for failure.
Manager “by Libro”. Libro or book in English. A systematic
type of a manager who operates by the dictates of books or
what the manual and other formal documents say.

Manager “by Oido”. This manager learns his managerial
skills by oido or by ear because of his vast field of practical
experiences that compensates for his lack of formal
