虚拟语气的概念
 虚拟语气是一种谓语形式
 1. 表示假设、猜测、怀疑
 2. 表示愿望、要求、命令、建议等
•从动词的变化看可大致分为改变时态和使
用should＋动词原形两类

 一、在虚拟条件句中，分三种情况(以 do 例)：

1. If you had come a few minutes earlier, you
would have met him. (past)
如果你早几分钟来，你就会遇到他．
2. If he were to leave today , he would get there
on Friday. (future)
如果他今天离开，那么他周五就能到那．
3. If I were you, I would go at once. (present)
如果我是你，我就会马上去．

If it should /were to snow tomorrow, they would not go

the house .

二、省略 if 的虚拟条件从句（部分倒装）
当从句中有 were, had 或 should 时，可省略if ，而把
它们放在句首。
If I were to meet him tomorrow, I should ask him
about it.
Were I to meet him tomorrow,…
If he should fail in the experiment this time, he
would try again.
Should he fail in the experiment…

三. 有时虚拟条件句并没有用if 从句表示出来，而是用
介词短语、副词(otherwise否则, or, without, but
for)、上下文或其它方式来表示
1. We didn‘t know his telephone number; otherwise we
would have telephoned him.
我们不知道他的电话号码,否则我们就已经给他打电话了.
2. Without electricity, there would be no modern industry.
如果没有电,就不会有现代工业.
3. But for your help, I would not have succeeded.
如果没有你的帮助,我不会取得成功.

四、错综时间的条件句
即从句与主句的动作发生的时间不同。此时，需要
按时间来确定虚拟形式．
1.If you had not seen the third film last night
(past),you would not be so sleepy(present).
如果你昨晚不看第三部电影的话，你就不会这么困．
2.If he had not taken my advice (past),he wouldn't do
it much better like this (present).
如果他不听取我的建议，他就不会干得这样好。

一.在would rather, would sooner, would just as soon
后that从句中, 表示现在和将来的情况用did / were,
表示过去的情况用had done，译为”宁愿做什么”
I would rather he came tomorrow than today.
我宁愿他明天来而不是今天.
Jane would rather that she had not gone to the party
yesterday evening.
珍宁愿她昨晚没去参加那个晚会.

二．在as if (though),从句中，常用虚拟形式，即表
示与现在事实相反，用did / were；与过去事实相
反用had done.
Ｈe looked as if he hadn’t slept for two days.
他看起来就象两天没睡过觉一样.
She looks after the boy as if he were her own
son.
她象照顾自己的儿子一样照顾那个男孩

三、 wish接宾语从句有三种情况：
1) 现在：did / were
2) 过去：had done
3) 将来：would / could + do
1.I wish I were a boy.
我希望我是一个男孩。
2.He wished he hadn't done it.
他希望他没做过那件事。
3.I wish you could go with us.
我希望你能和我们一起去．

I wish I were 18 years old for ever.

I wish (that) you would get a good job.
3.我们多希望我们能早两个小时到达．

四．if only 意为：若是...那该多好啊; 真希望...; 只要,
只要...就好
表示现在的情况,应用did /were; 如果是过去的情
况 , 应用 had done
If only I had arrived in time!
若是我及时到达该多好啊！
If only she didn’t drive so fast.
真希望她别开那么快．

that 从句要用虚拟语气：谓语用did或
should + do
It’s time that you left here.
你该离开这儿了.
Translate:
我们该去上学了．
It’s time that we went to /should go to school.
