Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
includes chronic bronchitis, asthma, and
emphysema.

Cigarette smoke contains more than 4,000 different chemicals, many of
which are cancer-causing substances.
Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in the United States, causing
more deaths than the next three most common cancers combined.
Secondhand smoke is also an important cause of lung cancer.
