They are in a 2-D world
They are called flatlanders
To us, they appear flat like a line
They appear as a line but
really might be an isosceles
triangle.
We live in a 3-D world
Flatlanders refer to us as spaceland
We appear as we are, not flat, but
3-D
By appearance the Flatlanders look flat
They tell what shape it is by touching the
vertices of the shape
After they touch vertices they can then
figure out if the shape is of higher class or
not
They can also figure out if it is male or
female
This is a vertex of
the triangle.
By appearance we look three-dimensional
We tell who it is by using our eyes and
looking at the person
We do not have to touch the person to tell
who it is or if its male or female
We can also tell who the person is from afar
since we don’t have to touch them
In this picture, we
can tell that it is a
male and a female
just by looking at it.
Flatland and Spaceland are very different
from each other
We both have different ways of seeing the
people in our worlds
To each other we look very different
Flatland and Spaceland are two completely
different worlds
