a script for the television news.
You must include:

that the eruption may take place soon.
Imagine that you work for the American
government and that it is your job to warn the
American public that they may be in danger of
experiencing a super-volcano eruption.

Design a survival strategy.
Imagine that you work for the USGS or for the
government.
You need to warn people how to prepare for
the inevitable eruption of the super-volcano.
You must include:
The details of the eruption – where might it
happen?
Why it will happen? Causes?
what might happen? The details of the
eruption and the effects – how will the people
and the environment suffer?
You must include:
1. Draw and label a ‘dustbin’ that can contain
a survival kit. What items would you include
in the kit and why would you need them?
Explain each item exactly. Why would each
item be crucial for survival.
2.Write a short survival plan for a family.
What should they do when the volcano starts
to erupt?
The effects of the eruption – what did it
do to the people and the environment
How can they prepare?
How people around the world were
involved in the eruption and how they
helped each other
How people around the world may need to be
involved in the eruption and how people might
need to help each other

You need to think carefully about the short
and long term effects of the eruption and use
this to help explain your plans.

Assessment choice 4 = Diary. Write a diary with between 3 – 5 days entries. For each day write an account of what happened during the eruption.
You need to talk about the run up to the eruption (what the warning signs were), what happened during the eruption, what exactly happened and what
effects did it have on people and the environment? And what happened in the days after the eruption? What did you do to try and survive? Explain
in detail. Use key words and don’t forget to P.E.E!!!
