• Provide
for safety of patients, staff, and visitors;
• Maintain
situational awareness by listening to overhead
announcements and directions including safety messages
• Staff
are not permitted to go home unless otherwise directed by the
Incident Commander or Supervisor.
• Inventory
staff, supplies, and resources;
• Input
your unit information into the Unit Disaster Report Form (UDAR)
or online via command aware at www.commandaware.com.

• If notified and available, indicate estimated time of arrival
and report for duty;
• Wear staff identification badge at all times;
• Report to the Labor Pool for assignment;
• Be prepared to stay for an extended amount of time (bring an
extra change of clothes, toothbrush ect.)

Hospital Incident Command System
• Utilization of Hospital Incident Command System (HICS)
• Managed from the Hospital Command Center
• Centralized decision-making and coordination of resources
• The Incident Commander assumes authority and
responsibility for the management of the entire incident.
