Conflict: opposition of person or forces
Rising Action
 The main conflict is dealt with through
action
 The main character is aware there is a
conflict and takes steps to battle crisis
Climax
 The high point/moment of greatest
tension. May be physical, emotional or
mental.
Falling Action
 Story begins to wind down
 Results/consequences of decisions
character has made
Resolution
 The end/dénouement. Conflicts
resolved, loose ends tied up, happy or
sad ending.
