Important Points to Note (1/3)
• Give responsible feedback
– Your constructive and truthful feedback will help your
lecturers improve their teaching effectiveness and
helping you to learn better
– Consider your overall experience and contact with
lecturer
– Open comments are optional, but they help your
lecturers understand better what to continue doing,
and which areas to work on
16
Important Points to Note (2/3)
• Other pointers when responding to Surveys
– You may submit each survey only ONCE
– You are allowed to access your exam results after
you have responded to ALL OnSET surveys.
– Each survey takes only a couple of minutes to
complete. To avoid delays in viewing your exam
results, please respond to surveys once you receive
them.
17
Important Points to Note (3/3)
• Ensuring Confidentiality of Survey Responses
– Your identity will NOT be disclosed to your lecturers
• Cutting Down Number of Surveys per Student
– For large classes, OnSET may randomly pick students as
respondents
– You may not be involved in the survey for some of your lecturers
• Notifying Students about Surveys
– Important to keep your particulars (private email and mobile
phone number) updated in the Student Information System
18
Survey Exemption Requests*
• You may submit survey exemption requests only if you
are NOT in the position to comment on a lecturer’s
teaching effectiveness
• OnSET accepts the following reasons:
– I am not taught by this lecturer
– I have not been attending this lecturer’s lessons
• You will be notified via email on the result of your
request
• If your exemption request is not approved, you will need
to complete the survey
