What is AIM?
NASA's Aeronomy of Ice in
the Mesosphere spacecraft
was delivered into orbit from
a Pegasus XL rocket. This
rocket was fired from
beneath a modified aircraft.
AIM's
three
scientific
instruments will study polar
mesospheric clouds located
at the edge of space, 50
miles above the Earth's
surface in the coldest part of
the planet's atmosphere

The Aeronomy of Ice in the Mesosphere
(AIM) seeks to understand how Polar Mesospheric
Clouds (PMCs) form, and how they change.
