And link to those images directly from Patient Manager?
Easy as 1-2-3-4…
Integrate scanned and searchable images of EOB
batches with the associated payment transactions in
Group Management, and put those images at your

System Requirements
Putting the pieces together
Group Management
This solution is available for Group Management v3.0
Scanning your EOBs
This solution is designed to work with all types of scanners
OCR is important! Be sure that your scanner is OCR capable or you have other software
to OCR your .pdf image
Please note: Scanners and scanner installation are not included with EOB
Management
Your Server
This solution stores images directly on your Group Management server
- adequate disk space is required (see survey)
- images are backed up nightly, ensure the increased backup time is acceptable (see
survey)
To easily transfer images from your scan source to Group Management, you will need a
network share:
Have Analyzer? – we can use the Analyzer file share
No Analyzer? – we’ll install Microsoft Windows Services for Unix 3.5 (no cost)

Scanners for EOB Management
• Installation and support of a scanner is not included in EOB
Management
• We do not have any scanner requirements, but we do have
recommendations:
- Produce PDF images
- OCR the PDF
- Use the lowest dpi that gives the best quality to make the
most use of available disk space (i.e. start with 200 to 250 dpi)
- If the scanner does not have OCR capability built-in, consider
an application such as Adobe Capture

Key Features
 Images are indexed by practice code, check number, posting date, and
control group number.
 Electronic remittance will automatically index as part of the live posting
process
 Links to images from payment listing are “smart” – a link is only
available if an image is available for viewing. Payment posting can
happen before or after indexing the image.
 OCR allows a user to search the EOB for a specific patient
 PDF format allows a user to easily print the EOB
 Images are backed up and restored via the standard Group
Management back up utility
