Prezi is a Web 2.0
presentation application
which provides a single
canvas on which students
and teachers can present
text, video, and images in
a non-linear pattern.
Frames can be used to
determine the order in
which the information is
presented. Zooming tools
allow the reader to focus
on one element at a time.
Traditional Versus Digital Literacy
According to the National Writing Project, “93%
of teens say they write their own pleasure.”
Teacher:
Presentation of
material relating to a
unit of study
Student:
Visual aids to
accompany oral
presentations
Research projects
Group work

Possible Lessons and Project Ideas
Lessons:
Presentation of author’s background,
historical data, and relevant information
to a unit of study
Projects:
Group and individual work which will
enable the student to use videos, text,
hyperlinks, and a variety of media
Advantages
Videos and media can be saved to a
drive rather than streamed. This
eliminates the problem of bandwidth.
*Educator’s account required to save
offline
Disadvantages
The program limits the size of the media files.
More space is available with a paid
subscription.
The final product does not differ much from a
PowerPoint, and it is an extra step to create
this.
