• Grasslands are large areas
with hills of grass and
wildflowers.
Sometimes grasslands are called
prairies, savannahs, or steppes.

PRAIRIE DOGS
There are five different species of prairie dogs: black-tailed,
white-tailed, Gunnison, Utah, and Mexican prairie dogs.
They grow between 30 – 40 centimeters in height .
They are tiny creatures, so they can hide easily from
predators.
They have claws to dig their homes
BLACK RIHNOCEROS
• An adult rhinoceros grows 140 – 170 cm in
height.
• Usually rhinoceros weighs up to 800 to
1,400 kg .
• Leafy plants, branches, shoots, thorny wood
bushes, and fruit.
CHEETAH
• Cheetahs can run between 112 to 120 km/h.
• They can accelerate from 0 to 103 km/h in about 3
seconds.
• This is also one of their adaptations with this power they
can protect themselves.
• Cheetah feed on antoplope and buffalo
ELEPHANT
• A elephant weighs about 12,000 kg
• The hard skin helps it prevent arrows and
knifes.

Zebras eat dry grass.

• Wild oats are sometimes cut for hay, and
young plants provide forage for grazing
animals.
• The oat that grows in the plant is edible by
humans and other animals.
Human activities
• Humans destroy grassland by driving vehicles
on them, which destroys the plants and killes
animals.
• Humans set fire to the ground which destroys
plants and kills innocent animals .
