Let’s Learn About Shapes!
This would be the opening screen of the lesson. Students would hear a
voice saying: “Let’s Learn About Shapes! Click anywhere on the screen
to continue.”
Shape Puzzle
This is the pre-instructional activity. Students
will hear “Do you recognize these shapes?
Today you will learn about three dimensional
shapes. But first let’s see if you can match the
the three-dimensional shape to the twodimensional shape it looks like. For example,
the cone has a circle on the bottom, so I am
going to drag the cone to the circle. Hint:
some figures have more than one answer. Now
you try!” The students will be provided with
verbal feedback when they get the answer
correct “great job” or incorrect “try again.”
Three Dimensional Figures
This is the start of the actual content. Students would hear a voice
saying: “Today you are going to learn about three dimensional figures.
Sometimes they are called 3D shapes too!
What is 3D?
Explanation of 3D - “A three dimensional figure has three dimensions,
height, length, and depth. It is something you can pick up and hold.
Everything in the world around you is 3D, the computer, your chair, your
desk.

“Now that you know what 3D is, let’s learn the names of the three
dimensional figures!”
Cone
On this screen, the students would see a short video about cones. The video will describe
the cone and give examples of cones in the real-word. Some examples will be: ice cream
cone, party hat, funnel, snow cone, traffic cone, megaphone, and princess hat.

After the explanation of cones, students will be asked to find the shape inside various
photographs. Students would be provided feedback to let them know when they are
correct.
Sphere
On this screen, the students would see a short video about spheres. The video will describe
the sphere and give examples of spheres in the real-word. Some examples will be: planet
Earth, soccer ball, baseball, marbles, beads, orange, and apple.

On this screen, the students would see a short video about cubes. The video will describe

On this screen, the students would see a short video about triangular prisms. The video will
describe the triangular prism and give examples of triangular prisms in the real-word. Some
examples will be: slice of pie, tent, Toblerone, and a piece of cake.
