road, city, or state.
Thesaurus
• In a thesaurus, you will find synonyms for words.
• Wonderful –Synonyms: great, magnificent,
excellent, terrific, cool, and fantastic
• Also in a thesaurus you will find an antonym for
the word.
• Wonderful-Antonyms: horrible, awful
Dictionary
• We use a dictionary to look up words
meanings.

• An encyclopedia is used when someone wants to
find information about a person, place, or thing.
Periodicals
• Provide the most up to date information
• Are received on a regular basis
• Examples: Magazines and newspapers
