•Genre
This wonderful story, Charlie and the chocolate factory is fiction because
there is no such thing as Willy Wonka, Charlie and the other characters in the story.
Another thing is that there is no such thing as a giant chocolate factory that Mr. Willy
Wonka lives in or never comes out of. That’s how this story is fiction!!!!!!
Setting
The wonderful book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory takes place in two places. The first place is at Charlie’s
house where his parents live. Charlie and his family live in an old crooked house with cracks and a lot of drafts, I feel so bad,
don’t you!? The house is kind of in the city but Charlie does not live in a building. Charlie and his family are VERY poor.
The second place is Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. The ginormous castle looking factory was filled with candy, it
is glorious!!!!!! One more sneak peek nobody has ever seen somebody come out or in except the cars delivering chocolate.
That is so cool if you want to see everything read this book!
CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, is about a kid named Charlie, who is very
poor. He lives with his grandma, grandpa, aunt, mom, dad, and his uncle but his dad is the only one
with a job. Charlie’s poor family lived in an old, almost going to collapse, house in the city. Charlie, his
mom and his dad were the only ones who were not old like the others. During each meal, all they had
was measly cabbage soup. The only good thing that the Charlie’s family can afford on Charlie’s
birthday is a chocolate bar. On the week of Charlie’s birthday a flier came out that saying that five
golden tickets are in each candy bar, but they are hidden among thousands of chocolate bars. Only
5 children will be able find the golden ticket and get a tour of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory. Only
one kid at the end will get a special prize! Some people think that a boy like Charlie does not have a
chance! The book starts out with Charlie’s birthday and his parents coming through the slanted door
and giving him a chocolate bar. All of the family is sitting on the bed when Charlie starts to open the
chocolate bar slowly. Go to your closest library and get Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald
Dahl to read what happens next!
