5What joy for those whose strength comes from the
LORD, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to
Jerusalem.
6 When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will
become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains
will clothe it with blessings.
7 They will continue to grow stronger,
and each of them will appear before God in Jerusalem
Realize you are a Traveller
‘who have set their minds
on a pilgrimage’ 5
Travellers don’t have to
be Miserable
‘What joy for those whose
strength comes from the Lord’

with blessing!’ 6b
Isaiah 43: 19
For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Traveller’s have Choices
Option 1: Rebel!
Option 2: Trust and Wait!
Travellers get Stronger on
the journey- not Weaker
‘they will continue to grow
stronger’ 7
Travellers always reach
their destination
‘And each of them will appear
before God in Jerusalem’ 7b
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge
crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off
every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that
so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the
race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our
eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects
our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured
the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in
the place of honor beside God’s throne. 3 Think of all the
hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t
become weary and give up.
For the Lord God is your Sun and your Shield. He gives
you grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good
thing from those who do what is right 11
O Lord of Heaven’s Armies What JOY for those who
Trust in you! 12
