Sylvie has built a career of exceptional and award-winning
educational buildings and innovative residential project design.
Haarlem’s Vocational Training School, Sterren College won the
Lieven de Key Medal in 2013 for its, “phenomenal, original
and inspiring” architectural qualities. In Noorderpoort College,
Stadskanaal and Calvijn Groene Hart, Barendrecht her teams
have produced designs that finesse both technical and useroriented operational efficiency and occupancy. Residential
projects such as: Kop van Oost, Groningen; Master Plan
Almere Hout Noord and Tussen de Lanen, Doorwerth are each
illustrative of Sylvie’s commitment to creating highly contextual
designs that serve occupants with subtle, sensitive and yet
unconventional architectural techniques.
Sylvie understands that designing high quality educational
facilities and multi-family residential projects must involve
everyone in an intensive process of listening, questioning,
designing, explaining and expressing ideas. Sylvie is a
committed team player and her design approach is defined by
the cooperative engagement that she elicits within her project
team, technical advisors, clients and users.
By asking questions and anticipating requirements she defines
the essential, drawing out nuances to not only design projects
that are pleasant, warm and adaptable but also go beyond the
client requirements to deliver innovative learning and living
environments.
