FAQ concerning JUPAS
Q) HKDSE results = the only factors that determine
if applicants will be accepted?
• NO! Other considerations may include:
– Performance in interviews / tests,
– banding of programme choices,
– levels achieved by other applicants in the current
year & in the same programme,
– and other information provided by applicants in the
online application form, etc...

• The assessment weighting for HKDSE subjects varies with
programmes. For programmes with HKDSE subjects
indicated in the entrance requirements, the
required/preferred subjects probably carry more weight.

• For applicants who have fulfilled the minimum entrance
requirements, admission scores will be calculated for the
selection of applicants.
• For students with the same score, reference will be made
to other information (eg. English results, results in
discipline-related subjects, band, interview performance,
OEA).
• No bonus points will be given to students who have taken
more electives.
Scoring system
OUHK:
• To be eligible to apply for admission to Bachelor of Nursing
with Honours in General/Mental Health Care programme,
the elective subject should preferably be a science subject,
i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science or
Integrated Science.
