• Developed to encourage a consistent level of training across the
poultry industry.
• Championed by Lantra (SSC for land based industry), BPC, NFU and
Poultec training.
• Established minimal training requirements for each role within Poultry
Industry

Poultry Passport
• The Passport System is a secure on line training record system
– Individuals have access to their own account
– Companies/Managers have access to their employees accounts
• Can generate reports to identify training gaps, or where refresher
training is required.
• Records are updated on submission of evidence of
training/qualification. Information is verified prior to updating on the
system by the scheme administrators.
• There is an annual registration fee of £20 per individual

• The passport is divided into 4 levels
• Job roles are mapped to different levels

Level 1: basic skills positions
Level 2: assistant level positions
Level 3: manager/facility responsibility positions
Level 4: Area/senior manager positions
• Can be used to talent manage, individuals can develop through the
different levels
• In future can use as recruitment measure – internal and external
recruitment – accreditation of prior learning.

• Need for original certificates etc for input – not always easily
obtainable (will improve as system beds in)
