character education.
Washington State
• In 1993, RCW 28A.150.210, the Basic Education Act required the
state of Washington to provide students with the opportunity to
become responsible citizens…
• In 1994, Section 28A.150.211 was added to the Basic Education Act
and considered character education an integral part of public
education, but left the responsibility for implementation and
assessment to local school boards.
