• Allows for a visual overview of slice.

active (perfsonar, LAMP) and passive
(INSTOOLS).

• Automatic setup, little effort required on
user’s part. Simply run the instrumentize
script.
Basic Flow
• When slice is instrumentized, basic
configuration data is sent to the Portal
(manifest, mc address, user crypts). Data
saved in database.

User Login
User accesses Portal through web browser.
Login is via hash of passphrase. Can be
done automatically if user data is known ie
we can access user credentials.
Portal Interface
Portal creates web page with map view and
supporting data that is loaded onto the
users browser. Most of the action now
takes place on the browser.
Measurement Access
Browser may contact MCs for a variety of
data: graphs, INSTOOLS, perfsonar. Any
online resource that can be parsed from
the slice’s manifest.

• Credential management is cumbersome.

more unified credentialing system.
