A Presentation By Kaleb Noggle
Short History
• The Huns were a seminomadic tribe that originated
Northeast Asia (Now
Mongolia), and established an
empire of most Eurasia.
• Believed to be the
descendants of the Xiongnu
Tribe.
• Most of this land was
conquered by Attila the Hun
(More about that later)
Life as a Hun
• Not much is known
about the Huns,
because there is not a
written language.
• All we know is that
male children were
taught weaponry, to
ride on horses, and to
ignore pain.
Military
• Was known for archery on
horseback.
• Made a special designed
bow that was made to be
more efficient on
horseback
• Was in groups of 10, 100,
1000, 10000 horsemen
• For to fight on foot was
disgraceful in the Huns
culture.
Attila the Hun (406-453)
• After the death of Rugila, his
nephews Attila and Bleda
Dragomer were given the
throne (434)
• Attila’s role was a minor one
until his brother died 12 years
later.
• Stretched the Hunnic Empire
from Germany to the Ural River
and from the River Danube to
the Baltic Sea
• Died by internal bleeding after
heavy drinking (Others say that
his new wife Illdico was from
the gothic tribe and killed him)
After Attila
• After Attila died his three
sons Ellac, Dengizich, and
Ernakh, fought over who
would take the role of
Khagan (ruler)
• Since of that they were
defeated in the Battle of
Neado by Ostrogoths and
the Gepids.
• Since Attila had so many
wives, it is almost
impossible to find a direct
line of descendants
