• The cold war is a name
given to the relationship
between the USA, and
the USSR, and the
conflict between the two
after world war 2. There
was a lot of hostility
between the two
because of the constant
threat of the atomic
bomb in the 50’s and
60’s

• In the movie Rocky 4, the main character
Rocky Balboa has to endure an intense
fight with his soviet counter part, Drago.

• In the early stages of the
war the leader, Joseph
Stalin, and the USSR
had power, and
conquered many nations
including east Germany,
Poland, Hungary,
Romania, Bulgaria etc.
USA to Power
• In 1989 and 1990, the Berlin
wall was demolished.
Borders were opened, and
free elections were allowed
everywhere in Eastern
Europe. The Soviets
continued to have economic
problems concerning the
arms race. The USSR

outcome
• Soon after the soviets lost control of the
previously taken over countries, the iron
curtain was lifted and the cold war was
ended.
